Taxation is the primary concern for over 82% of wealthy UK investors considering obtaining a second residency or citizenship, according to new research by La Vida.
Portugal is the destination of choice for nearly three-quarters (73.9%) of those surveyed. Brexit is also a significant factor for almost two-thirds (64.4%) of respondents.
"We have seen a growing interest in second citizenship and residency programs. Increasingly, affluent Britons are seeking stability and predictability in their financial affairs, particularly concerning tax regimes," a spokesperson for La Vida stated.
The survey, which polled 150 wealthy UK investors actively seeking or considering international residency or citizenship, also cited factors such as quality of life, children's education, and investment opportunities as key drivers for relocation.
