TCL CSOT begins equipment installation at Guangzhou IJP OLED facility

TCL CSOT officially began the installation of core production equipment at its t8 facility in Guangzhou on October 31. The production line is designed for the manufacturing of 8.6-generation inkjet-printed (IJP) OLED panels.

This project marks a significant step in the company's transition toward large-scale inkjet printing technology for display production. By shifting from traditional evaporation methods to inkjet printing, TCL CSOT aims to improve material efficiency and reduce the capital expenditure associated with manufacturing mid-to-large-size OLED screens.

The deployment of this equipment places TCL CSOT in direct competition with established manufacturers currently utilizing traditional OLED production techniques. Industry observers view the move as a trial for the commercial viability of high-generation inkjet printing on a mass production scale.

Following the equipment installation phase, the facility will undergo testing and trial production runs. If successful, the t8 line could begin to influence the supply chain for OLED monitors and high-end display panels.
