TCL introduces new 5G-AI-CPE X5 router

VIENNA, Austria – TCL, a global consumer electronics company, has introduced its new flagship product, the 5G-AI-CPE X5 router, at Network X 2026. The device is designed to offer AI-assisted network optimization and enhance home broadband connectivity.

The new device aims to make home network connections more reliable and effortless. It features natural language interaction, AI-driven network optimization, application-specific Quality of Service (QoS), and proactive diagnostics and self-healing capabilities. This is intended to reduce maintenance and operational costs for network service providers.

The device targets households and small businesses seeking a premium broadband experience for activities ranging from remote work and gaming to connecting smart home devices. TCL recently received the IFA Innovation Award 2026 for its technology.

The TCL X5's AI agent interprets user intentions and coordinates network functions. For example, users can request network optimization for a gaming session, and the agent will adjust settings based on network conditions. The device employs specialized AI engines to optimize 5G reception and indoor Wi-Fi connectivity.

It also provides proactive network self-healing, from diagnostics to recovery, monitoring and correcting connection issues. TCL envisions the X5 as a broader AI hub for the connected home, combining local computing power and network services. The company also showcased other new products at the event, including the TCL LINKHUB HH516 5G FWA CPE and Wi-Fi 8 devices.
