TCL Introduces X5 5G CPE with AI
TCL unveiled its X5 5G CPE device, featuring artificial intelligence for home broadband optimization, at the Network X 2026 trade show.

Consumer electronics company TCL has launched its X5 5G CPE (Customer Premises Equipment) device, incorporating agent-based artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance home broadband connectivity. The product was presented at the Network X 2026 trade show, aiming to provide users with a more reliable and simplified internet experience while reducing operational burdens for network providers.
The X5 is designed for households and small businesses seeking premium high-speed internet for activities like remote work, gaming, and home automation. The device previously received an innovation award at IFA 2026.
The device's AI agent is engineered to interpret user intent via natural language, allowing it to coordinate network diagnostics, traffic prioritization, and device control to achieve the desired outcome without manual configuration.
Specialized AI models are integrated to optimize both 5G and indoor Wi-Fi connectivity. For 5G, the AI analyzes signal quality and adjusts antenna configurations for better reception. For Wi-Fi, AI-assisted signal path selection and congestion management are employed to ensure fast and stable connections.
TCL envisions the X5 evolving beyond a mere connectivity device into a central AI platform for smart living. This includes leveraging the device's on-board computing power and a unified AI operating system, acting as a home data hub.
