TCL Solar C2 Back Contact Panels Now Available in Europe

TCL SunPower Global has announced the European market availability of its TCL Solar C2 series of back contact modules. The first shipments commenced this week in the United Kingdom, with a progressive rollout across key European markets in the coming weeks.

The C2 modules were initially presented in June at the SNEC exhibition in Shanghai and Intersolar Europe in Munich. The technology has now transitioned from its official launch to commercial availability, targeting residential, commercial, and industrial applications, as well as large-scale photovoltaic power plants.

"C2 represents the next generation of the TCL Solar back contact platform and a clear demonstration of the technological direction we are driving," stated Steven Zhang, CEO of TCL SunPower Global. The company has significantly expanded its production capacity, including the acquisition of DAS Solar's back contact cell and module manufacturing operations. TCL SunPower Global holds over 1,600 patents related to back contact technology.

The C2 series includes the C2 S Black model for residential and small commercial projects, offering up to 495W of power and 23.8% efficiency. The larger C2 L and C2 L UPP models for commercial and utility-scale projects provide up to 670W of power and up to 24.8% efficiency. The back contact technology enhances efficiency by eliminating front-side metallic busbars, maximizing the active surface area exposed to sunlight.
