Team Capability Gap, Not AI Adoption, Is the Real Reason for Falling Behind

Business leaders need to address the knowledge gap within their teams regarding AI tools, as this is the true cause of competitive disadvantage. The issue is not the measurement of AI adoption itself, but rather how evenly AI capability is distributed among an organization's various teams.

Many executives attempt to standardize AI adoption from the top down; however, this approach fails to address the core problem. Instead, successful organizations foster capability development in a structured manner. They systematically allocate time for every team to work directly with AI tools week after week.

This consistent, hands-on engagement with AI tools allows for the effective and widespread dissemination of skills throughout the company. An uneven distribution of capability can create significant bottlenecks and hinder a company's ability to leverage the advantages offered by AI in a competitive landscape.

Organizations should therefore re-evaluate their strategies to ensure they actively support each team's capacity to develop and apply AI solutions as part of their daily operations.
