TechCrunch Selects Judges for Australia's Next Top Startup
TechCrunch is partnering with Stripe to host its Startup Battlefield competition in Australia, seeking early-stage startups. A panel of judges will select the country's next breakout tech company.
TechCrunch announced it is bringing its Startup Battlefield competition to Australia in partnership with Stripe, aiming to identify the nation's most promising early-stage startups. The event is scheduled for August 19 in Sydney, where eight Australian companies will pitch their ventures to investors, media, and the tech community.
One winning startup will receive an automatic ticket to TechCrunch Disrupt 2026, taking place in San Francisco from October 13–15. The competition aims to highlight and reward companies with the potential to become significant players in the technology sector.
Startup Battlefield has a history of launching successful companies, with over 1,700 ventures globally, including notable names like Dropbox, Cloudflare, Discord, and Trello. Past participants have collectively raised more than $32 billion and achieved over 250 exits.
The previous Australian Startup Battlefield winner was HealthMatch, now valued at over $25 million with a global user base of one million patients. The success of the event hinges on a skilled judging panel capable of identifying potential and posing critical questions.
