Technical issues disrupt Tokio Hotel anniversary concert
Lead singer Bill Kaulitz described the band's 20th-anniversary show as a 'nightmare' following significant technical failures.

Tokio Hotel’s recent 20th-anniversary concert in Berlin, marking two decades of their breakthrough single 'Durch den Monsun,' was marred by severe technical malfunctions. In the Netflix series 'Kaulitz & Kaulitz,' frontman Bill Kaulitz detailed how a failure in his in-ear monitoring system prevented him from hearing his own voice or his bandmates throughout the performance.
The concert, which featured an estimated production budget of 1.4 million euros, was intended to be a major celebration for the band’s fan base. Kaulitz described the event as a 'worst-case scenario,' noting that the audio failure made it impossible for him to enjoy the performance at the time, despite efforts to resolve the situation by swapping microphones.
While the singer initially expressed deep frustration over the ordeal, viewing it as the worst failure of his career, he later reflected on the event with more perspective. During retrospective interviews for the series, Kaulitz acknowledged that he can now appreciate the significance of the event for the audience.
