TECNO and Angélica Dass Launch Archive of Human Possibilities

Mobile manufacturer TECNO and Brazilian photographer Angélica Dass have launched the "100 Portraits of Becoming" project. The initiative, unveiled in Nairobi on July 7, 2026, aims to present 100 diverse portraits highlighting the multiplicity and potential of humanity. The project emerges amid growing concerns about how artificial intelligence (AI) increasingly shapes human representation.

Dass's previous work, the "Humana" project which documented human skin tones, inspired this new undertaking. "100 Portraits of Becoming" delves deeper into human identity, exploring how individual stories and experiences shape who people are. TECNO is providing technological and resource support for the initiative.

The project intends to gather images and narratives from across the globe, building a digital archive designed to foster understanding and appreciation among diverse populations.
