Teledyne e2v Achieves MIL-PRF-38535 Class Y Certification for Space Applications
Teledyne e2v's manufacturing facility has obtained MIL-PRF-38535 Class Y certification from the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), marking a significant achievement for European semiconductor manufacturers in the aerospace sector.
Teledyne e2v's semiconductor manufacturing facility in Grenoble, France, has been awarded the MIL-PRF-38535 Class Y certification by the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). This achievement makes Teledyne e2v the first semiconductor manufacturer in Europe and the third globally to receive this designation.
The certification, also known as QML Class Y, signifies the highest quality and reliability standards for non-hermetically sealed, flip-chip-implemented microcircuits in ceramic packaging, crucial for aerospace and defense applications. Teledyne e2v previously secured the QML Class V certification for hermetically sealed, flip-chip microcircuits.
To obtain the Class Y certification, Teledyne e2v worked closely with the DLA and NASA. The company now holds AS9100 and QML Class Q, V, and Y certifications at its manufacturing site, positioning it as a leading provider of advanced semiconductor solutions meeting stringent global requirements.
This new certification enables Teledyne e2v to address the growing demand for flip-chip implementation in aerospace and defense applications. It represents a key milestone in the company's strategy to deliver high-quality devices and solidify its position as a reliable supplier for the space industry.
