Telefónica Provides IoT Connectivity and Access Control for Negratín Projects
Telefónica has introduced a new digital model to enhance the operational management of Negratín Group's energy construction projects, integrating IoT connectivity, real-time location tracking, and smart access control.

Telefónica is supporting the digitalization of operational management in Negratín Group’s energy construction projects through a new model combining IoT connectivity, real-time location tracking, and smart access control.
The solution is currently being piloted at three photovoltaic projects in rural Colombia: La Mina, La Tabla, and soon Tropezón. Collectively, these projects represent a generation capacity of 38.4 MWp, accounting for approximately 10 percent of Negratín Group’s activity.
Supported by Telefónica’s connectivity infrastructure, the system enables continuous data updates and manages 215 devices and assets on site. It assists Negratín in monitoring field teams, controlling access to project areas, tracking critical materials, improving coordination, and supporting decision-making.
This implementation is part of Negratín’s broader strategy to leverage digitalization for enhanced operational efficiency, safety, technical control, and risk management in complex energy projects, with plans to extend the solution to other facilities in the future.
