Telekom launches MagentaZuhause 2000 with up to 2 Gigabit speeds

Deutsche Telekom has launched MagentaZuhause 2000, a new fiber optic internet service that provides download speeds of up to 2,000 Mbit/s and upload speeds of up to 1,000 Mbit/s. This offering doubles the maximum data rate previously available through Telekom's fastest fiber optic plans. The company's CEO for Private Customers, Wolfgang Metze, stated that the new plan offers customers a "completely new dimension" of internet speed and performance.

The MagentaZuhause 2000 plan utilizes XGS-PON technology, which is designed to support future broadband applications such as augmented and virtual reality by enabling near real-time data transfer. Current users can benefit from the high speeds for large file downloads, online gaming, and UHD streaming.

Initially, the MagentaZuhause 2000 service is available only in select pilot regions. Telekom has begun pre-marketing in Berlin and Gunzenhausen. The company aims to make the service accessible to approximately 100,000 households by the end of 2024.

The monthly cost for MagentaZuhause 2000 is €139.95. This includes a flat-rate telephony service to all German networks. The contract duration is 24 months.
