Deutsche Telekom has built 222,000 new fiber connections in August, bringing the total number of available connections to 14.1 million.

Deutsche Telekom announced it has built 222,000 new fiber connections in August. This achievement raises the total number of fiber connections offered by the company to 14.1 million households and businesses. These connections allow customers to utilize speeds of up to 2,000 Mbit/s.
Beyond pure fiber, Telekom maintains a broad network coverage for basic speeds. In August, 38 million households could access speeds of at least 100 Mbit/s, with approximately 33 million having access to up to 250 Mbit/s.
The company also monitors customer data usage. For download speeds, streaming and video services such as MagentaTV, YouTube, and Netflix were the most utilized. For upload speeds, cloud services and collaboration applications like Google Cloud and Microsoft Teams led the rankings.
Telekom emphasizes that to benefit from higher bandwidths, customers must book a corresponding tariff. Interested individuals can check their connection's suitability on the company's website or by contacting a store or customer service.
