Teleste Awarded Contract for Copenhagen Train Modernization
Siemens Mobility has selected Teleste to supply passenger information and CCTV systems for new trains in Copenhagen. The contract is valued at approximately 40 million euros, with deliveries beginning in 2028.
Finnish technology company Teleste has secured a significant contract with Siemens Mobility for the modernization of Copenhagen's S-train network.
The contract, valued at approximately 40 million euros, covers comprehensive passenger information, public announcement, CCTV, and passenger communication systems for 226 new four-car trainsets. Teleste will also handle maintenance and any additional train options. Deliveries are scheduled from 2028 through 2040, with the new trains expected to enter service in 2032.
The project is part of a major upgrade to Copenhagen's public transport system, which includes establishing the world's largest open railway system with automated train operation. This represents the largest investment in the S-train network's 90-year history.
Teleste's solution will be managed by its S-ARRIVE® software platform. It integrates real-time passenger information and video surveillance to enhance passenger experience, improve safety, and increase operational efficiency for the new fleet.
