Telia and Ericsson have commenced significant outdoor field trials for 6G technology in Sweden. The collaboration marks one of the first major attempts in the Nordic region to test the infrastructure required for next-generation mobile networks, which are projected to reach the market between 2030 and 2032.

Technical teams from both companies are currently evaluating core performance metrics, including signal propagation, uplink capacity, network reliability, and latency. The gathered data is intended to refine the design and deployment strategies for the future 6G ecosystem.

This initiative follows a joint roadmap aimed at developing digital infrastructure in Sweden. As the industry moves toward 6G, the integration of artificial intelligence into network management remains a primary focus for both hardware and service providers.
