Telit Cinterion and Commstar Radio Partner for Multi-Network Connectivity in Critical Infrastructure

Telit Cinterion, a global Internet of Things (IoT) enabler, and Commstar Radio, a technology and communications provider, have announced a partnership focused on delivering enhanced connectivity for critical infrastructure. Through this collaboration, Commstar Radio will integrate Telit Cinterion's NExT™ SIM connectivity solution into its offerings. This technology provides customers access to multiple carrier networks via a single SIM card, ensuring secure and resilient communications for municipal services, utilities, and transportation sectors.

The NExT™ SIM solution is designed to overcome limitations of single-carrier coverage, particularly in urban, rural, and hard-to-reach locations. Built with network redundancy, it aims to maintain uninterrupted connections for users. The system supports a wide range of cellular technologies, from 2G to 5G, and connects to over 600 mobile carrier networks globally, catering to both low-power wide-area (LPWA) devices and high-bandwidth applications.

Commstar Radio specializes in providing wireless communication and connectivity solutions for organizations operating in demanding environments. Their services include push-to-talk over cellular, wireless infrastructure connectivity, and secure wireless services. This partnership will enable Commstar Radio to offer enhanced operational reliability and broader network coverage to its clients, including local government, field services, and energy companies.

An initial deployment with the Village of Reeseville, Wisconsin, has demonstrated the effectiveness of this multi-network approach for municipal communications.
