Temasek Remains Bullish on AI Despite Infrastructure Spending
Singapore's state investor Temasek is optimistic about the future of artificial intelligence (AI) and is not concerned by significant infrastructure spending by major tech firms. The company holds stakes in OpenAI and Anthropic.

Singaporean state investor Temasek has indicated it remains confident in the future of artificial intelligence (AI), despite substantial infrastructure investments being made by major cloud computing companies.
Speaking at an investment event in the United States, Temasek's North America head, Jane Atherton, stated that companies funding AI infrastructure possess some of the strongest balance sheets globally. She added that these firms anticipate returns that justify the risks as AI adoption continues to rise.
Temasek, with an overall portfolio valued at approximately $400 billion, holds stakes in key AI players including OpenAI and Anthropic. The firm previously announced intentions to increase its AI investments from around 6% of its portfolio to as much as 15% over the next five years.
Atherton also highlighted the importance of AI safety, asserting that responsibility for addressing these issues should be shared by governments and the technology development companies.
