Temu Triples Brand Coverage in Intellectual Property Enforcement Efforts
E-commerce platform Temu has tripled the number of brands under proactive intellectual property (IP) monitoring to over 15,000. The ratio of proactive removals of infringing listings to reactive takedowns increased to 331:1.

E-commerce platform Temu has expanded its intellectual property (IP) protections over the past year, tripling the number of brands under proactive monitoring to more than 15,000. According to its 2026 Intellectual Property Protection Report, the ratio of proactive removals of potentially infringing listings to reactive takedowns rose to 331:1, up from approximately 200:1 a year prior.
The report, covering June 2025 through May 2026, details Temu's enforcement of its platform rules concerning IP rights and the results achieved. The company's monitoring database now encompasses over 15,000 brands, a significant increase from over 5,000 a year earlier. Additionally, the platform stores more than 47 million images and 9.5 million keywords, with image coverage increasing ninefold over the year.
Temu utilizes a combination of proprietary screening technology and human expert reviewers to proactively detect and remove infringing listings. This approach aims to reduce the enforcement burden on rights holders, particularly smaller businesses lacking dedicated IP teams. The company also reported that the average resolution time for IP complaints is less than 24 hours.
Further measures include enhanced seller vetting, with over 40% of new applicants reportedly rejected during onboarding for failing verification checks. Temu terminated more than 16,000 stores during the period for repeated IP violations. The platform also implements consumer awareness features, blocking over 80,000 daily searches for terms related to counterfeits and redirecting users to information about their risks.
