Tencent expands Hy4 capacity following surge in usage
Tencent has scaled its infrastructure tenfold on the WorkBuddy platform to accommodate record-high demand for its recently launched Hy4 language model.
Tencent has increased its computing capacity tenfold on the WorkBuddy platform following high user demand for the Hy4 large language model, which launched on November 4. The initial response led to capacity constraints within the platform's task queue, necessitating urgent infrastructure upgrades.
To mitigate service disruptions, the company has extended the free access period for its predecessor, the Hy3 model, until November 15. Despite the expansion, Tencent noted that high concurrent traffic may still cause occasional usage limits, advising users to utilize non-peak hours for less urgent tasks.
Hy4 introduces enhanced capabilities over the preview version, including expanded training data and new visual processing features. Tencent plans to release the model’s weights under an open-source license in the near future, while prioritizing safety protocols related to cybersecurity and biotechnology.
