Tencent Hy4 preview faces high demand, capacity issues
Tencent's new Hy4 preview AI model has experienced a surge in demand since its integration with WorkBuddy, prompting capacity expansions. The company apologizes for potential user disruptions.

Tencent's Hy4 preview AI model, launched on the WorkBuddy platform on August 28, 2026, has seen an overwhelming response from users and developers. The model's enhanced agent capabilities have led to significant user engagement, resulting in queueing for tasks on its first day.
Apologizing for the congestion, Tencent stated it has initiated emergency expansions of the Hy4 preview inference cluster to ensure a stable user experience. However, the company cautioned that limitations in high-end computing power and peak concurrency might still lead to occasional delays.
To mitigate these issues, users encountering queues are advised to consider alternative solutions. These include switching to other models like Hy3, whose free trial in WorkBuddy has been extended until September 30, 2026, or using the service during off-peak hours for non-urgent tasks.
The free trial for Hy4 preview is scheduled to end on September 10, 2026. Daily free usage limits are in place per user due to resource constraints. Additionally, Hy4 preview is a large language model and does not support multimodal generation, such as image or video creation. Such tasks will be handled by other models.
