Tencent open-sources Hy4 model with 770B parameters and 1M-token context
Tencent has released and open-sourced Hy4, a large language model with 770 billion parameters and a context window exceeding 1 million tokens. The model is accessible via multiple services and as an API.
Tencent Hunyuan released and open-sourced Hy4, a preview of its next-generation large language model, on August 28. The model boasts 770 billion total parameters, with 49 billion activated, and a context window that surpasses 1 million tokens.
Hy4 is available through the Chinese and international versions of WorkBuddy and CodeBuddy, as well as Yuanbao and ima. API access is offered via Tencent Cloud TokenHub and OpenRouter.
The model is designed for productivity-focused tasks, including coding, office work, data analysis, game development, and scientific research. WorkBuddy and CodeBuddy will provide free access for a limited two-week period. The API is priced at $0.834 per million input tokens and $2.501 per million output tokens.
In an internal blind evaluation involving 163 experts and 203 engineering tasks, Hy4 preview scored an average of 2.99 out of 4, performing comparably to GLM 5.3 (2.92) and Kimi K3 (2.94). Tencent also stated that the model helped optimize its training and inference systems, increasing end-to-end throughput by 31.8%.
