Tencent partners with Cyberlite India to study gaming career pathways

Tencent has partnered with Cyberlite India, an organization focusing on digital safety and youth development, to conduct a study on career prospects within the video game sector. The initiative involves over 100 participants across four cities, utilizing 12 workshops and focus groups to gather feedback from students, parents, and educators.

As part of its involvement, Tencent is also providing support for a three-part YouTube series titled "Game On" in collaboration with partners such as Yuvaa. This research follows recent government efforts in India, including the proposed establishment of content creator labs in 15,000 secondary schools to foster growth in the animation, gaming, and extended reality sectors.

Industry data indicates that India reached approximately 511 million video game players in 2025. Alongside this study, Tencent has disclosed plans to invest 100 million rupees (US$1.05 million) to support the development of India's gaming and animation industries.
