Tencent releases Hy4 language model with open weights
Tencent has officially launched its Hy4 language model, featuring enhanced visual processing and the ability to interact with computer interfaces.
Tencent has released the stable version of its Hy4 large language model, marking an expansion in the company's efforts to integrate visual perception and computer control into its AI infrastructure. The new model supports fine-grained image analysis and can navigate both command-line and graphical user interfaces, specifically optimized for professional tools like CAD and Blender.
The company announced plans to release the model weights publicly, a move aimed at fostering the open-source ecosystem through partnerships with communities like vLLM and SGLang. Hy4 is currently accessible through Tencent Cloud and OpenRouter, maintaining the same API pricing structure as the previous preview iteration.
Despite the performance improvements, Tencent acknowledged that a gap remains between Hy4 and leading proprietary models in specialized domains such as advanced mathematics and long-form coding tasks. To address performance efficiency, the company intends to launch a 'Hy4 Flash' version in the near future to increase inference speeds.
