Tencent releases new test build of WeChat for HarmonyOS

Tencent has introduced version 4.1.13.4 of the WeChat desktop application optimized for Huawei's HarmonyOS. The update is currently available as a test build within the Huawei App Gallery, signaling the company's continued efforts to expand its software ecosystem for the domestic operating system.

The update includes several functional additions, such as the ability to bundle photos and videos within chat threads, enhanced message translation tools, and support for multi-message retraction. Additionally, the application now allows users to retain chat histories after deleting contacts and introduces more flexible navigation within the user's Moments timeline.

As the software is categorized as a test build, users are advised of potential stability issues. Tencent plans to continue pushing updates throughout the testing phase to refine performance and resolve bugs identified by participants.
