Tencent Reportedly Developing New Personal Agent App "Yuanbao Assistant"
Chinese tech giant Tencent is reportedly developing a new "Yuanbao Assistant" app, designed as a standalone Personal Agent focused on long-term tasks and memory.
Chinese technology company Tencent is developing a new application called "Yuanbao Assistant," intended to be a standalone Personal Agent product. This new app will operate independently from the existing Yuanbao main application, focusing on core agent capabilities such as long-term task management and personal memory.
The application is expected to receive its own operational space and permissions, differentiating it from the current Yuanbao app. Tencent is actively working on multiple Personal Agent products and features across various business units, including those related to social networking.
Tencent Yuanbao, launched on May 30, 2024, is built upon the company's proprietary Hunyuan large language model. It supports voice and text searches and can recognize and process various document formats. The existing Yuanbao app assists users in generating reports, plans, copy, and code.
This development comes as several major Chinese tech firms are expanding their personal assistant offerings. Reports indicate that Doubao is also advancing plans for a similar product, codenamed "Xiao Dou," which is also being developed as a standalone application.
