Tencent tests emoji reactions for WeChat Moments
Tencent has initiated a beta test for a new feature in WeChat Moments that allows users to associate specific emoji reactions with their likes.
Users of the WeChat platform have reported the appearance of a new interaction feature within the Moments feed. The update allows individuals to select specific emojis when liking a post, which then appear as visual feedback to other users.
Tencent's customer support has confirmed that the feature is currently undergoing a phased 'gray-scale' test. This testing process is limited to a subset of users across both iOS and Android platforms to evaluate system stability and user reception.
While the company describes the feature as a way to enhance interaction between friends, it remains in the internal testing phase. Tencent has not yet provided a timeline for a general rollout of the feature.
