Tencent updates Hy4 AI model with visual reasoning and software navigation

Tencent has released an update for its 770-billion-parameter Hy4 AI model, enabling it to perform tasks requiring visual understanding and direct computer use. The model can now interpret charts, analyze multi-page documents, and operate software tools such as CAD programs and Blender through graphical user interfaces or command-line commands.

The updated model is accessible via Tencent’s own products and third-party platforms, including OpenRouter. Pricing remains consistent with previous versions, set at $0.834 per million input tokens and $2.501 per million output tokens, with specific discounts available through Tencent Cloud until December 31.

By integrating Hy4 into tools like WorkBuddy and CodeBuddy, Tencent aims to automate workflows in fields such as financial analysis and game development. The company stated that it intends to release the model’s weights and system documentation shortly and is currently developing a more cost-effective version of the technology, dubbed Hy4 Flash.
