Tencent updates WeChat application for HarmonyOS
Tencent has released a new test version of WeChat for HarmonyOS, addressing image loading latency and adding interface utility features.
Tencent has launched version 8.0.23.33 of the WeChat application for HarmonyOS in the Huawei App Gallery. The update, currently in a testing phase, specifically resolves technical issues regarding latency when opening images, a persistent complaint among users.
Beyond performance fixes, the release includes functional updates such as a new option to group images when sending multiple files to contacts. The update also brings improvements to the interface, including enhanced support for system font scaling on cross-platform elements and expanded text selection capabilities for group member details and remarks.
Further changes involve administrative tools, allowing for direct deletion of articles within subscription feeds and improved notification management. The testing phase is scheduled to conclude on November 30, 2026, with features being deployed to users in a phased manner.
