Tencent WorkBuddy Desktop App Launches on Huawei HarmonyOS

Tencent's WorkBuddy desktop application has officially launched for Huawei HarmonyOS PCs and is available on the App Gallery. WorkBuddy is described as Tencent's AI-powered office assistant, designed to cover daily office tasks, code development, and creative design.

The launch for HarmonyOS follows the availability of its mobile counterpart, which was released earlier in July across iOS, Android, and HarmonyOS. This makes WorkBuddy the first general AI agent application available on the HarmonyOS system.

WorkBuddy includes functionalities that allow remote task execution on a desktop via a mobile device. According to Tencent, the HarmonyOS version features a unique "tap-to-share" capability, currently unavailable on other mainstream operating systems. This feature, along with deep system-level integration, was developed in collaboration with HarmonyOS experts.

Tencent stated that the development for HarmonyOS involved rapid adaptation of key system-level permissions, including login, device connections, skill invocation, and output preview, enabling a seamless user experience on the platform.
