Tensor Achieves ISO/SAE 21434 Cybersecurity Certification

Tensor Auto Inc., an American company focused on physical AI, has achieved certification for its Cybersecurity Management System (CSMS) to the ISO/SAE 21434 standard. This global benchmark for road vehicle cybersecurity engineering was validated by Applus+ IDIADA, a European automotive certification body, through an independent audit.

The audit found no non-conformities, confirming Tensor's security-by-design process across the entire vehicle lifecycle. This certification establishes the foundational processes necessary for UN R155 type approval in global markets, supporting Tensor's cybersecurity model which emphasizes decentralized, onboard AI supercomputing.

The ISO/SAE 21434 standard outlines stringent requirements for managing cybersecurity risks throughout the lifecycle of connected vehicles. Tensor's successful completion of the audit without issues aligns its CSMS with UN Regulation No. 155, which governs vehicle type approval for cybersecurity in over 60 countries, including the European Union, Japan, and South Korea.

According to Dr. Jay Xiao, Founder & CEO of Tensor, the certification demonstrates that their security-by-design processes meet regulatory expectations. "Completing the ISO/SAE 21434 audit with zero findings shows that our security-by-design processes are built to the standard the world's regulators expect," Xiao stated.
