Tenuta Luce Concludes 2026 Harvest in Montalcino

Tenuta Luce, a winery in Montalcino, Italy, has announced the completion of its 2026 harvest. The growing season was characterized by warm and dry weather, with sufficient soil moisture retained from a wet winter and spring.

Alessandro Marini, Tenuta Luce's Technical Director, noted that a mild and rainy winter ensured good water availability and an early start to the growing cycle. Spring conditions maintained this momentum, setting the stage for an earlier-than-average harvest.

Harvest activities began on August 26 for the wine Luce. September saw the harvesting of Sangiovese from the Madonnino vineyard for Luce Brunello and from the Caselli vineyard for Luce. The Cabernet Sauvignon from the Campolungo vineyard, destined for Lux Vitis, was harvested on October 5. Each plot was picked based on its individual ripening pattern to achieve optimal maturity.

Rainfall and cooler temperatures in mid-September provided increased water availability and cooler conditions during a critical ripening period for Sangiovese, leading to grapes with excellent balance. Early tastings in the cellar confirm these initial impressions, indicating wines of finesse and balance, reflecting a successful growing season.
