Terra-Gen's Lockhart Solar Project Expands Total Capacity to Over 530 MW
Terra-Gen has commissioned its Lockhart IV solar project in California. The new 80 MW addition increases the company's total solar and battery storage capacity to over 530 MW.

Terra-Gen, a major independent renewable energy producer in the United States, announced on July 14, 2026, that its Lockhart Solar PV IV project has reached commercial operations. The company is jointly owned by Masdar and Igneo Infrastructure Partners.
The 80-megawatt (MW) solar project, located in San Bernardino County, California, expands Terra-Gen's renewable energy portfolio. Through a long-term power purchase agreement, it is expected to supply enough electricity annually to power approximately 40,000 homes and businesses.
The completed Lockhart Solar and Storage complex now comprises 365 MW of solar generation capacity and 173.7 MW of battery storage. Situated on approximately 4,000 acres, the entire facility includes nearly one million solar modules and 248 battery enclosures.
Construction of the Lockhart IV project generated over 220 jobs at its peak. Cupertino Electric served as the engineering, procurement, and construction contractor. CEO John O'Connor stated that Terra-Gen continues to invest in projects that meet electricity demand and create positive economic, social, and environmental impacts.
