Terra Quantum and Apex.AI Demonstrate Quantum-Safe Security for Cloud-Connected Systems

Terra Quantum and Apex.AI announced the successful implementation of NIST-standardized post-quantum cryptography (PQC) to secure edge-to-cloud communications. The demonstration focused on a robotic software environment provided by Apex.AI and a cloud-based control system, utilizing algorithms approved by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

The collaboration addresses the future threat posed by quantum computers to current encryption standards. This is particularly relevant for long-lived, connected systems such as autonomous vehicles, robotics, and defense platforms, which are expected to remain in service for decades and rely heavily on secure cloud communication for operations, updates, and management.

The solution integrates Terra Quantum's PQC capabilities with Apex.OS, Apex.AI's software framework for intelligent machines. A key aspect of the demonstration is that it preserves existing application architectures and communication patterns. This allows organizations to enhance their cybersecurity posture against quantum threats without requiring fundamental redesigns of their current software investments.

Markus Pflitsch, CEO of Terra Quantum, stated that the implementation proves NIST-standardized PQC is ready for widespread adoption. "Organizations cannot afford to wait until that moment arrives," Pflitsch said. Apex.AI CEO Jan Becker highlighted that the solution maintains the flexibility and scalability developers need for next-generation intelligent systems.
