Tesla Cybercab May Connect to PlayStation or Xbox in Future
Elon Musk has indicated that Tesla's future self-driving Cybercab robotaxis may allow for the connection of PlayStation or Xbox game consoles to the vehicle's screen.
Tesla is planning to enhance entertainment options in its upcoming self-driving Cybercab robotaxis. CEO Elon Musk suggested on the X platform that passengers might, in the future, be able to connect PlayStation or Xbox game consoles directly to the vehicle's 22-inch central display.
This information emerged as Tesla's official account showcased planned entertainment features for the Cybercab, including streaming services and gaming application support. Musk's comment raises questions about whether the connection refers to game controllers only or the full video signal from a console. Previous experiences have demonstrated the functionality of game controllers with Tesla's in-car gaming applications.
The Cybercab recently commenced commercial operations in Austin, Texas. The vehicle's interior and large central screen have received positive feedback from early passengers. If Musk implies an actual video input, it would open possibilities for connecting other devices, such as portable game consoles or laptops, utilizing the car's screen as an external monitor.
Furthermore, Tesla's plans to integrate the Starlink satellite network into the Cybercab could enable low-latency online gaming and other services. Combined with the potential for external device connectivity, the Cybercab could evolve into a significantly more mobile entertainment hub.
