Tesla Deploys Cleaning Robot at Robotaxi Hub
Tesla has put a cleaning robot into operation at its Robotaxi Hub in Austin, Texas. The robot is designed to maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the autonomous vehicles.

Tesla has deployed an automated cleaning robot at its Robotaxi Hub in Austin, Texas, marking a significant step in the development of its autonomous ride-hailing service infrastructure. This facility serves as a base for parking and maintaining the fleet of driverless vehicles, where cleanliness is crucial for efficient operation.
The cleaning robot, featuring a large mechanical arm with interchangeable tools, independently removes dust and debris from vehicle interiors, cleans up after passengers, and sanitizes touch surfaces like the 21-inch central infotainment screen. It is also capable of collecting and sorting lost items.
This deployment is part of Tesla's broader strategy to establish fully automated maintenance for its Robotaxi fleet. The company is also developing automated car washes and has patented disinfection systems to sterilize vehicles between rides.
Preparations for the Robotaxi service are progressing, with the company currently testing the steering wheel and pedal-free Cybercab model in Austin. Prior to public launch, Tesla plans internal testing of the vehicles at Gigafactory Texas for employee transport.
