Tesla Insider Denies Reports of Shanghai FSD Data Center Shutdown
A Tesla China insider stated on August 26 that claims of the company's Shanghai data center being emptied and its team withdrawn are untrue. Data compliance and local adaptation work for FSD in China is reportedly continuing.
A Tesla China insider has denied reports claiming the company's Shanghai data center, established to support the introduction of Full Self-Driving (FSD) Supervised in China, has been shut down and its related team withdrawn. The insider told reporters on August 26 that these claims are untrue.
Public information indicates that Tesla's work on data compliance and local adaptation for FSD in China is continuing. The Shanghai data center is responsible for storing data domestically, while an AI training center in Lingang commenced operations in February.
Tesla is also collaborating with Baidu Maps on compliant high-definition maps. While China is not currently listed among the markets where FSD Supervised subscriptions are available, Tesla's website still includes China among the markets where the system can be used.
