Tesla offers discounts to owners of totaled vehicles in China
Tesla has launched a new customer care benefit in China for individuals whose previous vehicles have been declared a total loss. The offer provides a discount on new Tesla purchases made before September 30, 2026.
Tesla announced a new customer care initiative in China aimed at individuals whose vehicles have been declared a total loss. Under this program, customers can receive a 800 yuan (approximately $110 USD) discount on the purchase of a new Model S, 3, X, or Y if the order is placed by September 30, 2026. This discount is applied directly to the final payment of the new vehicle.
The benefit is available regardless of the make or model of the previous totaled vehicle. To qualify, the owner of the new Tesla must be the same individual who owned the totaled car. The previous vehicle must have been declared a total loss between September 1, 2026, and the end of the promotional period. Participants are required to provide documentation of the total loss settlement from one of Tesla's partner insurance companies, which include PICC Property and Casualty Company, China Ping An Insurance Company, and China Pacific Insurance Company.
This move by Tesla appears to be a targeted effort to attract customers who have recently experienced a significant vehicle loss. By offering a direct financial incentive, the company aims to encourage these individuals to choose Tesla for their next vehicle purchase.
