Texas A&M-San Antonio Expands Scholarship Program
Texas A&M University-San Antonio has expanded its Jaguar Promise scholarship program to cover remaining tuition and mandatory fees. The program has seen a significant increase in participation.

Texas A&M University-San Antonio has expanded its Jaguar Promise scholarship program, designed to make higher education more affordable for eligible Texas residents. The program acts as a last-dollar scholarship, covering remaining tuition and mandatory fees after other financial aid is applied. Participants also receive a $300 per semester book stipend.
The program has experienced substantial growth in participation. The number of first-year students receiving Jaguar Promise funding increased by 21% over the previous year. Among first-year participants, enrollment grew by 48% among Early College High School graduates and by 9% among students who graduated in the top 10% to 35% of their class.
"Jaguar Promise has made a meaningful difference in my college experience," said Student Body President Caroleena Mancilla. "Knowing that my tuition and fees are covered has allowed me to focus more on my education, leadership opportunities and personal growth instead of constantly worrying about how I will pay for college."
The university is also focused on student persistence and degree completion. Program requirements include maintaining a minimum 12-credit-hour course load per semester and meeting GPA and academic progress standards. A partnership with Alamo Colleges District further facilitates a more affordable, debt-free path for students transitioning from associate to bachelor's degrees.
