Texas Regional Bank Launches New Banking Division in Oak Cliff

Texas Regional Bank (TRB) has launched TRB Financial, a new core banking division designed to expand access to relationship banking. The division will offer differentiated credit strategies, financial education, and community partnerships. The first dedicated TRB Financial banking center opened in August 2026 in Oak Cliff, Dallas.

Citing reports from the FDIC and the Texas Department of Banking, TRB noted a significant banking access gap in Texas, with a high percentage of unbanked or underbanked households. TRB Financial aims to serve individuals, families, and small business owners whose financial circumstances may not fit traditional banking criteria, providing a full banking relationship and a pathway to build financial history and credit.

To broaden credit access, TRB Financial is developing new consumer and small business lending options that employ distinct underwriting standards, intending to increase accessibility while maintaining prudent repayment requirements. The division will also provide ongoing financial education on topics like credit usage, documentation, and financial readiness.

The bank is forming partnerships with community organizations, nonprofits, and business leaders to connect customers with additional resources and capital. "Banking relationships should be centered on community and earned through trust and action," said Gene Tremblay, President of TRB Financial. "Oak Cliff is the first step in a strategy we intend to build over time," added Michael Scaief, Chairman and CEO of TRB.

The new banking center is located at 332 Jefferson Blvd., Dallas, Texas 75208, and will serve as a model for future TRB Financial expansion. Operating hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 8 a.m. to noon.
