TF1 Group increases stake in music label Play Two to majority

TF1 Group, a subsidiary of Bouygues, has exercised an option to acquire a 51% stake in music production firm Play Two.

2 November 2026

TF1 Group has moved to take control of independent music label Play Two, raising its stake in the firm to 51%. Founded in 2016, Play Two has developed a significant roster of French artists and has established itself as a prominent player in the local music production sector.

TF1 CEO Gilles Pélisson stated that the move is part of a broader strategy to solidify the broadcaster’s influence in the entertainment industry. By increasing its stake, the group intends to provide its existing media platforms with deeper access to music talent and production capabilities, complementing its current subsidiaries such as TF1 Musique and TF1 Spectacle.

Play Two co-founders Julien Godin and Sébastien Duclos noted that the partnership will provide the necessary resources to scale their operations amidst evolving music industry trends. The acquisition reflects TF1's ongoing efforts to diversify its content production beyond television broadcasting.
