Seattle-based law firm The Advocates Injury Attorneys has partnered with the Seattle Storm (WNBA) and Seattle Reign FC (NWSL) to establish the Advocate Athlete program. This initiative aims to recognize and reward young women athletes in Thurston and King counties who demonstrate leadership both in their sport and through community service.

Four athletes will be selected annually for the program. Honorees will receive premium game tickets, in-arena recognition, and a $2,500 donation to a charity aligned with their community involvement. The program reflects the shared values of all three organizations: advancing equity in sports and life, and strengthening communities.

The Advocate Athlete program was created to acknowledge the growing role of women's sports in shaping leadership, civic engagement, and community service across Western Washington. "We believe the most powerful advocates aren't always in courtrooms. They're in gyms, on fields, and in their communities every single day," stated Donilyn Hunter-Sallustio, COO of The Advocates.

Community members are invited to nominate athletes in grades 6-12 participating in any sport. Nominations should include a short essay detailing the nominee's community work and impact. Winners will be selected twice annually, with the first two recipients announced by July 24th. Each winner will receive the $2,500 grant and a premium game experience.
