The After Collective has launched a beta version of its AI-enabled Disaster Recovery Coach. The tool is designed to support wildfire survivors in their recovery, informed by new research highlighting the persistent challenges faced by those affected.
The study, which tracked 115 survivors of the Eaton and Palisades wildfires, found that emotional distress, displacement, and financial strain continue to affect individuals more than a year after the events. These findings directly shaped the development of the new, free, trauma-informed AI navigator.
The coach provides trauma-informed tools and resources tailored to help survivors navigate the complexities of the recovery process. The aim is to offer accessible support for individuals still grappling with the aftermath of disasters.
The service is currently in its beta phase, with plans to expand its reach based on user feedback. The After Collective seeks to make the recovery journey more manageable by providing technology-enabled, human-centered support.
