The Exploration Company Adopts Siemens Software for Reusable Space Systems

The Exploration Company, an aerospace startup based near Munich, has adopted software from the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio to speed the development of its reusable space systems.

The company, founded in 2021 in Gauting, Germany, is developing launcher-agnostic, reusable spacecraft. Its projects include the Nyx spacecraft family and high-performance rocket propulsion systems for cargo and future crew transport to Earth orbit and beyond.

Siemens' software connects mechanical, electrical, and simulation workflows, improving data traceability and reducing rework. The company stated this integrated approach helped move its orbital demonstration capsule, Mission Bikini, from initial concept to flight hardware in just nine months.

Siemens supports aerospace companies with digital solutions to meet the demands of future space programs and accelerate the development of reusable systems. Edwin Severijn, Senior Vice President at Siemens Digital Industries Software, noted that their collaboration exemplifies how Siemens Xcelerator helps customers build a connected digital enterprise that accelerates development for next-generation space programs.
