School's Wellness Director Publishes Book on Educational Well-Being
The Woodlands, Texas – Dr. Juan-Diego Estrada, Director of Wellness at The John Cooper School, has published his new book, Beyond Thinking: Cultivating Awareness and Well-Being in Education. The book is published by Bloomsbury Academic.
Estrada draws on over two decades of experience in bringing mindfulness and well-being practices to school communities. He explores how educators can cultivate greater awareness, balance, and well-being in themselves, and in turn, in the students and communities they serve.
The work behind Beyond Thinking is shaped by Estrada's experiences and the school's development of a systemic approach to well-being, known at Cooper as "Wisdom in Action." This approach reflects a commitment to educating the whole student, fostering intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development.
The book examines the relationship between thinking, awareness, and well-being, offering educators practical strategies to identify unhelpful patterns, develop mindfulness skills, and create healthier learning environments. A core premise is that meaningful change for students begins with the adults who teach and support them.
Beyond Thinking is available in print and digital formats through Bloomsbury Academic and major booksellers.
