The Verge Unveils Musical Spirograph Tool
The Verge has launched Musical Spirograph, a browser-based tool that combines the creation of geometric patterns with generative music composition.

The Verge has introduced Musical Spirograph, a new tool accessible through web browsers that merges the creation of geometric patterns with generative music composition. The tool allows users to create hypnotic, mathematically generated visuals that simultaneously produce musical notes.
Musical Spirograph operates by having points move across the screen according to mathematical equations, drawing hypotrochoids and epitrochoids. As these points pass through a series of concentric rings, specific musical notes are triggered. This process creates a dynamic interplay between visual art and sound.
The tool offers customization options, including six different virtual rotors and the ability to use up to three drawing arms simultaneously. The developers highlight the hypnotic and engaging nature of the resulting patterns and melodies.
This browser-based application provides an accessible platform for users to explore generative art and music directly, without requiring any software installations. It aims to offer a creative outlet for users interested in both visual design and algorithmic composition.
