The Witcher 3 Update Fixes Lighting Issues and Bugs

CD Projekt Red has released a patch for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt remake to address lighting problems and bugs that have caused player dissatisfaction.

2 October 2026

CD Projekt Red has issued a new update for the remastered version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, aiming to resolve lighting issues and technical bugs reported by players. The patch is available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Following the release of the revamped edition, numerous players voiced concerns regarding the game's lighting, with some finding it excessively bright and even washed out in certain interior environments. CD Projekt Red has responded to this feedback by deploying an update that adjusts lighting effects and corrects issues such as overly dark indoor scenes.

The update also includes a fix for a DLSS issue affecting the PC version via Xbox Play Anywhere. Additionally, it aims to synchronize graphical elements across different platforms to align with the PC version. The company acknowledged that the increased brightness in the new version might be attributed to several factors, including the game's 'bloom' setting, which lacks adjustment options on consoles.

CD Projekt Red also stated that a hotfix for save file issues on the PC version is in development. The company continues to investigate problems reported by players through its technical support channels and expresses gratitude for player patience and feedback. The Witcher 3 remake significantly overhauls the original game's visuals and animations, alongside improvements to gameplay and quality-of-life features.
