Thomas Kleinert Appointed New Chief Financial Officer at Malteser
Thomas Kleinert will assume the role of Chief Financial Officer for the Malteser network starting May 1, 2022. He transitions from his position as Chancellor of Katholischen Universität Eichstätt-Ingolstadt.
Thomas Kleinert has been appointed as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the Malteser network, effective May 1, 2022. In his new capacity, Kleinert will oversee the network's finances and will also serve on the executive board of Malteser Hilfsdienst e.V. and in the management of Malteser Deutschland gGmbH and Malteser Hilfsdienst gGmbH.
Kleinert, 53, joins Malteser from his role as Chancellor at Katholischen Universität Eichstätt-Ingolstadt, where he had served since 2012. His prior experience includes significant management and financial expertise, with previous roles within the Malteser organization from 2000 to 2012, including diocesan management and regional director positions.
Dr. Erich Prinz von Lobkowicz, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Malteser Deutschland, highlighted the significance of Kleinert's appointment. "We have gained an outstanding leader for our board," von Lobkowicz stated. "He possesses diverse management experience, is a recognized expert in the financial sector, and has a long-standing connection to Malteser."
Georg Khevenhüller, President of Malteser Hilfsdienst e.V., emphasized the critical importance of trust in financial leadership for a volunteer-driven organization reliant on donations. Kleinert is a member of the Order of Malta.
