Thorn Enhances Internal Customer Support Using AWS Generative AI
Thorn is leveraging Amazon Web Services (AWS) generative artificial intelligence to streamline its internal IT, security, and engineering customer support. The new solution aims to boost organizational productivity and employee well-being.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has enabled the organization Thorn to utilize generative artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance its internal customer support. Thorn, which focuses on developing technology to combat child sexual abuse, has integrated AWS solutions into its support services for IT, security, and engineering teams.
The new AI-powered system aims to accelerate the processing of support requests and improve the quality of responses, freeing up staff to concentrate more on the organization's core mission. Thorn seeks to achieve more efficient internal support that promotes employee productivity and satisfaction.
Thorn operates as a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to eliminating child sexual abuse material (CSAM) from the internet. In partnership with AWS, Thorn has developed the Safer product, which assists organizations in detecting and reporting such material. Advancements in generative AI are significant for Thorn, as they directly impact the methods used by malicious actors.
AWS has provided Thorn with financial and technical support since 2013. This long-standing partnership has been instrumental in the development of Thorn's Safer product. The implementation of generative AI in internal support operations marks a new phase in the organization's technological evolution.
