Thryve.Earth Secures Corporate Commitments for 6,000 Hectare Restoration in Indonesia

Thryve.Earth has announced its first corporate purchase commitments for the restoration of 6,000 hectares of land on the island of Sulawesi, Indonesia. The commitments come from companies such as Google and McKinsey, members of the Symbiosis Coalition, and Tencent, collectively agreeing to purchase carbon removal equivalent to 635,000 tons of CO₂.

These agreements represent a significant step for Thryve.Earth's nature-based carbon removal strategy. The company focuses on restoring soil and vegetation to sequester carbon while revitalizing local ecosystems. The restoration efforts will be concentrated in Sulawesi, an area known for its biodiversity facing environmental threats.

The Symbiosis Coalition is a consortium of companies committed to purchasing carbon removal credits generated from restoration projects. Such purchase commitments provide restoration actors with a financial basis for their long-term projects. Google and McKinsey are part of this coalition, and Tencent has also entered into a direct purchase agreement.

Thryve.Earth aims to provide tangible solutions for combating climate change by leveraging natural processes. The company seeks to model new avenues for corporate participation in global climate goals through projects that enhance biodiversity and carbon sequestration.
