Thunderhouse Media Group to present Austin music book at Texas Book Festival
The award-winning book 'Austin's Music Scene' will be featured at the 31st annual Texas Book Festival this November, with proceeds supporting local musicians' healthcare.

Thunderhouse Media Group will exhibit its award-winning publication, "Austin's Music Scene: Your Guide to the City's Most Iconic Artists & Venues," at the 31st annual Texas Book Festival in Austin from November 14–15. The book, which secured three 2026 IBPA Book Awards, serves as a comprehensive look at the city's music history and current landscape.
Founder Mitch Baranowski is scheduled to participate in a panel discussion alongside Paul Scott, CEO of the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM). The session will examine the factors contributing to Austin's international reputation as a live music center, while addressing the ongoing operational challenges facing local venues and performers.
The initiative has a philanthropic component, as 50% of the book’s net proceeds are donated to HAAM. The organization works to provide affordable medical and mental health services to Central Texas musicians, DJs, and music educators, an objective central to the upcoming panel discussion.
In addition to the panel, the book will be available for purchase at the festival's exhibitor area. Baranowski will also conduct a book signing following the Sunday presentation at the Texas State Library and Archives Commission.
